Thief’s Shelter is pretty cool because the mansion actually changes as the characters start losing their grip on reality. It feels like the place reflects their mental state, which is a neat twist. Exploring stays fresh since you have to use UV light or a digital camera to find hidden stuff. These are things that are right there but invisible without those tools. The puzzles are interesting, especially the heart puzzle, which was my favorite. Plus, the whole vibe is super tense and creepy, perfect if you like that kind of spooky atmosphere.
On the downside, moving around can be a bit confusing because it’s not always clear where you can go. Not having a map for three areas with collectibles makes trying to get everything 100 percent kind of annoying. Also, there aren’t that many puzzles, so if you’re a puzzle junkie, you might want more.
Overall, it’s a pretty fun and creepy game with some cool ideas, but it could use a bit more polish in movement and a few more puzzles to keep things interesting.
